Day trip to the Cap Bon Peninsula
Starting from 140€ per person.
Explore Nabeul for its pottery, Kelibia for its dry Muscat and its port, the ruins of Kerkouane (UNESCO), and the caves of Haouaria.
After being picked up from your hotel in Tunis or Hammamet, begin your excursion with a visit to the Archaeological Museum of Nabeul, formerly known as Neapolis, founded in the 5th century BC. The museum, renovated in 2003, houses an impressive collection of mosaics and rare artifacts from archaeological sites across the Cap Bon region.
Next, head to Kelibia to explore its formidable fortress, perched atop a 150-meter-high rock, the largest and best-preserved Muslim fortress in Tunisia. From Kelibia's port, the country's fourth-largest fishing port, you can admire a spectacular view of this historic fortress.
Your journey continues with a visit to the ruins of Kerkouane, a UNESCO World Heritage site, followed by an exploration of the Haouaria Caves at Ghar el Kebir. These caves, dug by prisoners in antiquity, provided stone blocks for the construction of Carthage across the Gulf of Tunis.
Conclude your day with a hike to Ras ed-Ddar, at 393 meters altitude, offering panoramic views to Sicily on clear days. Before returning to your hotel, relax at the natural springs of Korbous, completing this enriching experience of the Cap Bon Peninsula.
